The Student/Superintendent Council is one of five Superintendent Councils formed to facilitate engagement of key stakeholders in the work of the District. Providing students with an opportunity to meet with the Superintendent on a regular basis and provide feedback on District initiatives.
For the 2019-20 school year, students will be focusing on the topic of equity and inclusion, participating in a series of trainings on Youth Equity Stewardship. The trainings will be facilitated by Corwin, the consultant working with Kyrene School District on its equity and inclusion framework.
The SSC is composed of representatives from each of the 25 campuses in Kyrene--one 4th and 5th grader from each of the elementary schools and a minimum of one student from each grade level (6-8) in middle school.
