As I begin my 11th year in the Kyrene School District and my 18th year as an educator, I'm looking forward to meeting new students and seeing many familiar faces.
I have to begin by saying how much I love working in the district. I attended Kyrene schools from kindergarten through eighth grade. I have a bachelor's degree from the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from ASU. I also have a gifted endorsement.
I live in Gilbert with my two daughters, Caitlin and Maddie. Caitlin is starting 11th grade and Maddie is off to 9th grade. Both of my girls have been in gifted programs in both elementary and middle school, so I'm experienced with the challenges and joys of parenting these special kids.
Prior to returning to the valley, we lived in Ireland and I taught English to students from around the world. I've also lived and taught in Spain and the Czech Republic.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, learning about your joys and interests and what inspires you. I also love learning about my kiddos families and am looking forward to our journey together!
