About The Teacher
purple line  Hello! My name is Debbie Rhodes and I am delighted to be a member of the
Esperanza staff as your library media specialist! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development at the University of Arizona (Go Cats!) and my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Phoenix. This will be my 14th year teaching, and my 5th year at Esperanza as the librarian. I previously taught 1st-3rd grade at Manitas Elementary and 4th-5th grade at Sierra Elementary. I am passionate about teaching and look forward to coming to work each and every day!

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jeremy, for 15 years. Our 11 year old twins, Blake and Emerson, are the light of my life and keep me very busy!   In the free time that I do have, I enjoy reading, hiking, and exploring new places.

Teaching is truly my “dream job” and I take pleasure in helping students acquire the skills to be curious life-long learners as well as demonstrate excellent character. I strive to inspire each one of my students to cultivate a passion for learning and a love of reading. I am so excited about the wonderful school year that lies ahead!
