    About Mr. Williams

Hello Akimel A-al students and families! My name is Andrew Williams and I am very excited to be teaching 7th grade U.S. History this year. I have taught U.S. History at both Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School as well as Akimel A-al, and wholeheartedly believe in the Kyrene School District's mission to provide the best education possible to all students and fully prepare them for learning and living in the twenty-first century. My passion for history has been a life-long one, and I hope to represent and instill my excitement for learning about the past every single day in my classroom for my students.

I am an Arizona native and grew up near Prescott, where I graduated from Bradshaw Mountain High School in 2010. I then went to the University of Arizona in Tucson and received my bachelor’s degree in History in 2014 before attending Arizona State University and earning my master’s degree in Secondary Education in 2015. Though I have attended multiple secondary schools in Arizona I am a true Wildcat at heart (Bear Down!), and I am also a major fan of the Arizona Cardinals, Diamondbacks and Suns.

In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors walking, hiking and kayaking as well as spending time exploring new places, listening to great music (particularly the "Hamilton" soundtrack) and spending time with my friends and family. I look forward to a great year with all of you – and please never hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions and concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Andrew Williams
