About The Teacher
Hello first grade families!
My name is Carissa Hall. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2000 with a degree in Sociology/Family Studies. After college, I worked as an Assistant Family Teacher at Girls and Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska. While working there, I realized teaching was my passion. I went back to school to receive a BA in Elementary Education and became a certified teacher in 2004.I moved back to Arizona and taught in the Paradise Valley School District for two years. After that, my husband and I decided to embark on an adventure to teach overseas. Shanghai, China was our home for 4 years. As a teacher at Rainbow Bridge International School, I had students in my classroom from all over the world. It was a fantastic learning experience, which helped me grow as a teacher to better foster the unique strengths and needs of all my students, regardless of language and background. In 2009 we moved back to the Phoenix area to start a family, and our son was born in 2010.
My teaching background includes working with children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Over the last few years, I have received training to gain skills to help my students improve their reading and comprehension. This is my 4th year at Colina! I love teaching first grade and enjoy watching students gain confidence in reading and math skills throughout the year. Please don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting and supporting my new students!
Sincerely,Mrs. Hall
