About Señora Bailey
Dear Parents and Students,
My name is Anna Bailey, and I am thrilled to be your child's Spanish teacher this year! I am now in my eighth year at Altadeña, and am excited for both the fun, and the challenges, that lie ahead!
As a Phoenix native, and former "Kyrene Kid" myself, I have developed a great love and respect for the Spanish language and culture. As a teacher, nothing pleases me more than to share that with my students! I took my first Spanish class at Pueblo Middle School, then went on to earn my Bachelor's degree in Bilingual Education from ASU. I have worked as a reading intervention specialist, as well as taught in a dual-language program in the Creighton District. In addition to teaching Spanish, I also coach cheerleading, and am an advisor for both Student Council and at Minitown, a diversity/leadership camp for eighth graders.
What I love: my two darling children, Mackenzie (13) and Carter (10), the Bahamas, Zumba, dancing, Starbucks iced green tea, sushi, soccer, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, and anything PINK! When I am not at school, I am either on the soccer field with my daughter, or on the baseball field with my son. We are also planning a family trip to my bucket list destination of the enchanting Peru! If you have any insights to this beautiful country, please share!
I strive to create a family environment in my classroom, where every student feels safe and cared for. One of the best ways to foster that is through parent communication. Please feel free to contact me anytime with your questions, comments, or concerns, and I will do my best to get back to you within 24 hours. Thank you, and ¡bienvenidos a la clase de español!
