     black paw  Our first competition will be the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 8) on a Tuesday in November after school from 3:40 - 4:20pm in room #206. This competition is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders, and consists of a 25 multiple choice question examination.
     
    black paw  The Chandler-Gilbert Community College Excellence in Mathematics Competition will be on a Saturday in January. This competition is only open to 7th and 8th graders, regardless of the level of math they are currently taking. The first 20 students to sign-up in November will be able to attend. 
     
    black paw  The MathCounts school competition will be held in January and February.
     
    black paw  The MathCounts Chapter Competition will be late February/early March at the Arizona State University Memorial Union.  Selected students will receive more information for this competition from the coach. Students are selected to represent Aprende based on club attendance, scores, and good behavior, including working well with others.
     
    black paw  The State Competition will be held at the end of March. Only students who qualify at the Chapter Competition will be invited to attend.
