My name is Jennifer Dieltz and I'm originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After completing my degree in education at Black Hills State University, I moved to the Phoenix area where I taught 4th and 5th grades for six years. While here, I completed my master's degree in education with a reading specialist certificate through Northern Arizona University.
Then, I made a big change and moved to El Salvador! There I taught 4th grade in a dual language program at an American school in the capitol city. While teaching there for two years, I learned Spanish and was lucky enough to travel all around Central America. My experience truly opened my eyes to the value of knowing two languages. Not only is learning a second language FUN, it also helps you build connections within your native language and with other people!
Since returning to Arizona, I have been part of the Norte family! This will be my seventh year at Norte and my fifth year in the dual language program. So, it's my 15th year of teaching and I am excited to spend it teaching both 4th and 5th grades again!
When I'm not teaching, I'm running and training for races (I've run 8 full marathons!), sewing gifts for friends and family, relaxing with my friends, and reading as many books as I can! My passion for each of these makes me special, and I'm excited to learn and find all the things that make our Norte students special as well.
Please feel free to contact me (I'm fastest with email!) with any questions or concerns you may have. It's going to be an amazing year, and I'm glad you are part of it!
