Welcome students and their families to our Mariposa and Mirada Resource learning community!  I look forward to a rigorous year jam-packed with exciting learning experiences.  

I was born and raised on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. After receiving a BEd. and MEd. from the University of Hawaii, I moved to Phoenix where I have survived the scorching summers for 31 years. Luckily my family and my husband Lyle’s family all still live on Kauai and Maui, so we visit as often as possible. My son is a grad student at UC Davis and my daughter is a senior at Washington University in St. Louis. In my spare time, I like to hike, go to yoga, and bake.

I believe in leading an environment where children will learn and grow academically, emotionally and socially. I see my role as an advocate for students to achieve at a high level by facing the demanding challenges of school.  I believe that students make the most progress when everyone works together as a team, so please do not hesitate to email or call me with any questions or concerns.
