Hello Everyone! My name is Samantha Wilson. I am so excited to continue being a part of such a great team and loving family here at Mirada. I look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing and enjoying your first grade children.

First, I would like to share a little bit about me. I graduated from ASU in May 2013, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
After completing my student teaching at Hohokam Elementary in a Kindergarten and Preschool placement in the Scottsdale School District, I began my first year teaching Kindergarten at Kyrene de la Paloma. My second year teaching I moved to Mirada and taught Kindergarten. I moved up with my class into first grade. Now, here I am going into my eighth year teaching. I look forward to a great year!

Born and raised in Tempe, Arizona, I attended Kyrene Middle School, so am very excited to be back in the District, and will continue to uphold the exceptional standards Kyrene for which this District is known. After moving to upstate New York for four years and realizing the cold weather was not for me, I returned to the Valley of the Sun, and bought my first home in Tempe. I got married in October 2015 to my husband, Brandon, and we just had our first home together in March 2018. We love having started a new chapter in our lives together of owning our first home. We now have a daughter who turned one in January 2020. This past year, something I'm most proud of is while being pregnant and giving birth to our first child throughout the process of getting my Master's, I successfully graduated in October 2019 from Grand Canyon University with my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Here are a few of my favorite things:
    Favorite color: Teal / Mint
    Favorite food: Mexican
    Favorite dessert: Anything caramel
Favorite drink: Iced Coffee with Milk
Favorite Children's Book: Dr Seuss & The Kissing Hand

When not in the classroom or thinking about classroom ideas and my students, I also love to go shopping, go out to new restaurants, craft, cook, bake, swim, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors.

I am excited to be here in not only a great district but a wonderful school. I look forward to a positive and successful year!
