    School Office Hours During Summer

    School Start/End Times 2019-20

    Meet the Teacher Night

This is the night when children meet their teachers! You can also purchase PTO items, put money in your child’s lunch account, drop off school supplies, etc. There will also be a Transportation table and a Community Education table. Please stop by and find out about bus routes and before/after-school programs.

Monday, July 29, Elementary Schools: Meet the Teacher Night from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
This includes Kyrene Traditional Academy grades PreK-5.

Tuesday, July 30, Middle Schools: Meet the Teacher Night and Curriculum Night from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
This includes Kyrene Traditional Academy grades 6-8.

    Curriculum Night

Middle Schools: Curriculum information will be presented on Meet the Teacher Night. Some middles schools offer extended hours on Meet the Teacher/Curriculum nights. Visit your individual school website for a schedule of events.

Kyrene Traditional Academy will hold Curriculum Night for all grades on Wednesday, August 14.

Elementary Schools: Curriculum Nights will be scheduled during the month of August. For parents new to Curriculum Night, this is an opportunity to learn what your child will be mastering in math, English language arts, science and social studies, as well as learn about classroom expectations and school/home communication.

    School Communications

Families will receive a school newsletter on a regular basis, which will highlight important events, dates, activities and achievements. Most communication will be digital and will be sent to the primary email and phone number on file. Parents and guardians do not need to sign up for email communications, but we encourage you to verify your email is correct in ParentVUE.

Kyrene School District also sends text messages in the event of an emergency or for other critical communications. Families must elect to receive text communications. Text “Y” or “yes” to 67587 to begin receiving text messages from both your child’s school and the Kyrene School District.

Families can also follow Kyrene School District on FacebookInstagram and Twitter. Be sure to also follow your individual schools on Facebook.

    School Lunches

Kyrene uses an online system for managing school meal accounts. If you do not already have an account, visit www.k12paymentcenter.com to register. As always, checks made payable to Kyrene School District and cash are accepted at school sites as well. Paper applications for meal assistance are sent home on the first day of school with all students.

    Supply Lists

Basic grade-level supply lists are available online. IMPORTANT: Please check your school's individual page for the most current and specific supply list. This list is a guideline only and may not reflect the needs of every classroom or every school.

    Bus Stops and Routes

Kyrene has revised bus routes, to coordinate with new school start/end times for the 2019-20 school year. Please visit Kyrene's Transportation page for the most current information.

    Immunization requirements

Arizona State law ARS 15-871-874 requires that a parent or guardian provide a complete, up-to-date immunization record prior to enrolling a child in school.

Middle School Students 11 years of age and older are required to have one dose of Tdap vaccine if 5 years have passed since their last dose of tetanus/diphtheria containing vaccine. Most children had their last DPT when they were 5 years old, so most 11-year-old children will be due for a booster. Students 11 years of age and older are required to have one dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MV, MCV4 or Menactra).

These immunizations will be due by the first day of school, if the child will be 11 years old by that date.
