    About Mrs. Jennewein

    purple line

    Dear Families,

I moved from the cool Rocky Mountains of Wyoming to the heat of the desert in 1986 ready to make a difference in young people’s lives. I heard that Kyrene was an innovative district on the cutting edge of research. I only applied to Kyrene and did not give up even when school started that year. At the end of September, 1986, I received a call from Kyrene del Norte. They needed a 6th grade teacher immediately.  It has been my honor and pleasure to work at Norte, Kyrene Middle School, Manitas and now Kyrene Traditional Academy.

During my time in Kyrene, I married my patient husband, Mike, and we will celebrate our 30th anniversary this year.  We are blessed with a son, Cody, and daughter, Hannah. Both of our children were Mountain Pointe High School, Pueblo Middle School, and Manitas graduates where they had exceptional teachers and experiences.  Cody now works for Black Box at Intel.  Hannah earned her master's at ASU and works for ASU.  I continued my post graduate education with 72 additional hours including an endorsement in gifted education.  I enjoy reading mystery novels, working crossword puzzles, and cooking.  I love to golf though I am horrid!  I have collected elephants since I was nine.  Nine years old was also when I decided I wanted to be a teacher.

I have adored teaching...most days!  Kyrene Traditional Academy is the place where I want to continue my professional growth.  I am excited to support the curriculum, routines and beliefs of this wonderful school and community.  It truly does take a village to raise children and I am ready to partner with parents, colleagues and administration to give our KTA kids a rich, meaningful and fun education.
