    About The Teacher

    Dear Parents and Students,

This is my 20th year teaching at Mirada and my 27th year of teaching elementary school. I received my teacher certification at Purdue University. Later, I returned to school and earned my master’s degree in elementary education from Northern Arizona University. I began my career in Carmel, Indiana where I taught 2nd grade.  I am excited about beginning my 26th year with the Kyrene School District. I continue to learn and evolve as a teacher, and never grow tired of this rewarding career.

Outside the classroom I have many hobbies, such as exercising, reading, hiking, and traveling.  I also spend a lot of time with my family and friends.

My hope, as a teacher, is for parents, teachers, and students to work together as a team. Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. When I team with parents, I rely on their knowledge about what strategies work best for their own child, so suggestions and assistance are requested and welcome. I value parental input, and hope that all of my parents will be involved, informed and excited about our third grade program.

    Sincerely,

    Susan Edinger
