About The Teacher
I am so excited to start the 2019-20 school year with your child. I would like to start off by telling you a little bit about myself.
My name is Mrs. Janice Wagner. This is my 21st year of working in the Kyrene School District. This is my sixth year teaching third grade as well as my sixth year at Lagos. Previously I taught second grade for 15 years, with the exception of one year when I taught a 1st grade / 2nd grade combo. I also taught two years of second grade in the Dual Language English program at Ninos Elementary School.
On a personal note, I’ll celebrate my 33rd wedding anniversary in October! My husband, David works doing packaging and receiving at Simpson Strong-Tie. We have 2 kids: our daughter Alexis is 31 and has been married for almost 8 years. Our son Aaron is almost 30 and was a U. S. Marine stationed in California for 5 years, but is now back home in Arizona. He is currently working full time in Tempe.
When I’m not working I love to spend as much time as I can hanging out with my granddaughter, Millie Jae who is almost 3 1/2 years old, and my grandson, Roman who is 17 months old! I also LOVE reading on the beach in Mexico or up at our cabin in Heber. As a goal to celebrate my 50th birthday, I ran my first half marathon in January of 2012, and it was a great accomplishment!
I received my Bachelor's teaching degree from ASU and graduated with my Master's of Education in Teaching and Learning in December of 2014! Woot, woot!
This is going to be a great year of learning and growing for your child... AND me! :) I look forward to an amazing year!
