    About The Teacher
    line

    Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Kindergarten!! My name is Tracie Knowlton and I am so excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher! I think Kindergarten is the most awesome place to be! We are going to have a great year and I look forward to learning many new things with each of you.

A little about me - My husband and I have been married for 36 years and have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 great son-in-laws.  My oldest daughter, Bryn, and her husband Jason live in Mesa. He works for ASU as a tech advisor and Bryn is an online teacher for BYU-Idaho. She is also busy raising our 3 beautiful grandchildren, twins Riley and Easton, who are 4 and little Piper who just turned one. I am loving being a grandma - it's the best!!  My second daughter Katie and her husband Spencer just built a home in Mesa. He is an attorney in Scottsdale and she works at Desert Banner Hospital as an RN.  They are expecting their first child in November - a girl!! We are so excited to welcome a new little one into our family.  Our youngest daughter, Shae, graduated from ASU in Non-Profit Management and Leadership and is currently working for UofA after spending the last 2 years teaching English in Japan.  My hobbies include sewing, reading and spoiling my grandbabies!  I love Mexican food, shopping at Hobby Lobby and my favorite color is orange.

I graduated from Brigham Young University and taught for 8 years before I became a stay at home mom with my girls.  During that time I returned to school and received my masters in education from NAU.  I was excited to return to the teaching field as my girls grew older and could not have found a more wonderful place to work than Mirada.

My own children went to Mirada when it first opened and I am beginning my 18th year as a teacher here. Mirada has been an important part of our family and I hope it will be an important place for you as well. As a parent I was highly involved in my children’s classrooms and I welcome you into our classroom and look forward to working with each of you.

Your child’s success at school this year is my goal. I look forward to providing a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for your child to learn and grow. Kindergarten is an awesome place - come and enjoy!
