About The Teacher
My name is Rebecca Miller, and I am one of the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Manitas Elementary School. This is my 11th year working in the Kyrene School District, and my 3rd year here at Manitas. Go Dolphins!! I am so excited to be a member of your child’s team! I look forward to getting to know your child and/or building on old relationships and working hard to meet their communication goals.
Please allow me to introduce myself. My parents moved my sister and me from California to Arizona in 1990 and I’ve lived and loved the state of AZ ever since. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science from Arizona State University. I earned my master’s degree in Communication Disorders at Western Kentucky University. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Leadership and Innovation in Special Education at Arizona State University. I have experience providing one-on-one home-health and clinic-based speech therapy, as well as small group and whole-group speech therapy in the school setting. My husband, Don, is a school psychologist and we have two wonderful children, Jack and Olivia, and three pug dogs, Dobby, Bella, and Luna.
I look forward to meeting you all via virtually or in-person when we conduct your child’s annual IEP review this year. In the meantime, if you have any questions for me about your child’s therapy, please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org anytime during the week or at 480-541-3744 on Thursdays and Fridays. Also, check out my teacher website for many useful links and handouts on how you can help support your child’s communication at home.
I look forward to working with you and your child!
