Akimel A-al offers a variety of clubs, activities, and organizations for students.
For questions, please reach out to the sponsor of the club you are interested in.
District Policy: Permission slips, signed by a parent/guardian are required for student participation in all extracurricular activities. If a student is interested in participating in a club, activity or organization, please have them reach out to the sponsors or stop by the front office to get a permission slip. The permission slip must be signed by both student and parent/guardian prior to attending the meeting.

Meeting Dates: Twice a month, Every other Monday
Meeting Time: After school, 3:05pm-3:55pm
Our mission is to create an Art club that is a safe place for students to express themselves through personal art projects. We will be creating for fun and enjoyment, and also doing things to add art to the school campus, such as help decorate and design bulletin boards and ceiling tiles.
Chess Club

Meeting Time: 7:30 am-8:00 am
Chess Club is designed to give students an opportunity to learn the game of chess, improve their chess skills, and to enjoy challenging their peers, while experiencing healthy competition and team spirit. Chess is used to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making. While the students will have the chance to track their progress and to compete in chess matches, our main focus will be to encourage learning, sportsmanship, and fun.

Rattler Pride Drama Club is a place where students can further their Theatre Arts education while having a great time! Drama Club will consist of theatrical games, concentration workshops, working with Desert Vista Speech and Debate and Theatre and Mountain Thespian Club, outings to see other middle school and high school shows and more!!!!

Jewelry club is a place where student artisans can meet to learn new jewelry-making techniques and create items such as friendship bracelets, pip-cleaner rings, beaded bracelets, necklaces, keychains and more!
National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. NJHS students and their peers volunteer in their communities at the highest rates and make connecting with and serving within the community a priority.
Speech and Debate

In Speech and Debate Club, students will become acquainted with the various types of speech and debate, including storytelling, poetry and prose, expository, impromptu, informative, congressional debate, declamation, and pro-con debates. Students will not be discussing major world issues; instead, the focus of the club is to learn how to support an argument and to build self-esteem when students are speaking in front of large groups.
