    Dear Parents,

I am so excited to meet and get to know your family. C.I. Waggoner is a wonderful school and I cannot wait to share the next 10 months with you, watching your child grow and learn. I hope you enjoyed the short time you spent in our classroom at Meet the Teacher night and I look forward to inviting you back many times throughout the year together. As we begin this school year, I want to let you know a little about me.

I am originally from Cave Creek, then moved to North Scottsdale when I was in elementary school, then to Tempe for college (GO SUN DEVILS!), and I currently reside in Arcadia. I was an Alpha Phi at Arizona State University. I am a true Arizona native and I absolutely love it here. My parents were born and raised in Washington state, moved to San Diego, and then to Arizona, where my siblings and I were born.

I come from a teaching family, as my uncle is a college professor and a football coach at Pacific Lutheran University, my grandpa was a high school art teacher and district art coordinator, and my grandma was a superintendent of the Orting School District- all in WA. It definitely skipped a generation, however, because my mom works in sales and my dad is in hotel management. Kristina, my younger sister, just graduated from dental hygeine school (Kristina and I are only 11 months apart!). My younger brother, Jake, just graduated from Arizona State University, where he studied Communications and is a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

Teaching is one of the greatest loves of my life. It is in engrained in my blood, and is something I’ve wanted to do since I was in elementary school. A majority of the jobs held during my high school and college career involved young children. I’m fortunate enough to have started and continued my teaching career in the Kyrene District, as I am now beginning my eighth year teaching kindergarten at Waggoner. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, along with my SEI Endorsement, ESL Endorsement, and an Early Childhood Endorsement.

My hobbies include movies, singing, playing volleyball, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family. My favorite color is turquoise and my favorite place in the world is Disneyland/ Disneyworld!

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you over the course of the year. I cherish the relationships that are built with you and your children over the next 10 months, and hopefully many years to come.

    Warmly,
    Miss Courtney Wilson
