    • Student teachers and guest teachers are eligible to join the Association at substantially reduced rates. Benefits vary, but are well worth the investment.

    • KEA members retiring from teaching will become new members of the Arizona Education Association – Retired (AEA-R) organization, thanks to a long-standing practice of the KEA Rep Council.
    • KEA underwrites a one-year membership in AEA-R for all retiring Kyrene teachers who have been KEA members. The practice was established years ago by the KEA Rep Council and former KEA president Doc Gerard as a way of honoring our valued long-time members.
    • Membership in AEA-R provides the retirees with the educational publications and special benefits they received as full-time active members, as well as continued contact with the Kyrene education community.

Contact your Site Representative for more information about joining KEA.

One of the most valuable benefits of your KEA membership is access to the services of the Professional Responsibilities Committee, a team of colleagues who work to answer questions, provide advice, and work to resolve problems for our members. You can also visit the KEA Committees page of this web site to see the many ways you can join other teacher members in the work of KEA.
    • Go to Members Only on the AEA web site for a complete listing of benefits.

         NEA Attorney Referral Program

    • A valuable benefit of our Association membership, the NEA Attorney Referral Program provides members with legal advice on personal matters in five core areas: wills and estates; real estate; consumer protection; traffic violations; and domestic relations, which includes divorce, child support, and custody.
    • Members are entitled to two, free 30-minute consultations on core area issues per year. Members can also have legal work performed in the core areas at a 30% reduction of normal hourly attorney fees.
    • The names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the NEA-approved attorneys participating in the program are available in a handy brochure. (There are eight in the Phoenix/East Valley area.) Directions on how to access their services are also detailed in the brochure.
