    Free Meals for Children

    USDA enacted waivers to bring back the Summer Feeding Program where all children 0-18 years of age will be given Breakfast and Lunch meals for free until June 30, 2022.

    Kyrene Digital Academy students and In-person Kyrene students and siblings (within age range) can get meals for free at this time.

    Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT food stamp money)

    P-EBT cards will be issued for the 2021-2022 school year sometime during 2022 for this school year. You are required to have a meal application on file and qualify for Free or Reduced meal benefits to receive P-EBT funds. Kyrene Digital Academy students enrolled for 2021-2022 will not receive these benefits as KDA is now considered a permanent online school in this it's second year. Please contact Linda Stewart at the District Office to confirm if an application is in place for the 2021-2022 school year by phone at 480-541-1350 or email at lstewa@kyrene.org.  More information is available at DES P-EBT webpage.    Summer P- EBT benefits will be issued in October 2021 for meal applications received in June or July of 2021. Your child had to be enrolled the last month of school for 2021-2022 and did not have meal benefits until the application was received in June or July. 

  • Curbside Free Meals


    2021-22 School Year

    Meal Service for Breakfast and Lunch will be available for all students, whether attending in-person services or engaging in online learning at home. Beginning Thursday, 7/29/2021 Snack and Supper meals will also be available at the curbside parent pickup location only, for all children 18 years and younger.

    Students attending In-person school will have Breakfast and Lunch meals provided at each school site. Free meals allows for one breakfast meal and one lunch meal per day per student to be served to them. For In-person learning all other meals, or Al-a carte items, or additional drinks can be purchased, if the student has money to cover the cost in their meal account at the time of purchase.

    For students in Kyrene Digital Academy or In-Person learning options, meals will be available through a curbside pickup system. Curbside parent pickup will take place Mondays and Thursday at the Kyrene District Office, at 8700 S. Kyrene Rd. in Tempe, from 7:00AM to 8:00AM or 5:00PM to 6:00PM.  Changes to pick-up schedule for Holidays or breaks for no school days, is posted on the Elementary and Middle School pages.   All children 18 years and younger in the community are eligible to receive free meals at this meal distribution site.                  

    • Monday Meal Pickup:  Meals for 3 days - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Breakfast, Lunch, Snack and Dinner meals
    • Thursday Meal Pickup: Meals for 4 days - Thursday, Friday,  Breakfast, Lunch, Snack and Dinner meals. Please note meals for Saturday and Sunday is only the Snack and Dinner meal.
    • Adult breakfast $2.72, Adult Lunch $4.58 if you choose to purchase meals

    Students do not have to be present to pick up meals. Once at curbside, call 480-541-1660 to contact Food Service.

  • In-Person Free Meals


    All School Campuses

    Free breakfast and lunch will be served on all school campuses. Sack Breakfast will be given out  as students enter the school in the morning and eat in the classroom. Students will pick up lunch in the cafeteria and take back to the classroom to eat their meals.

  • Pay for Meals Online

    Checks made payable to Kyrene School District and cash in a sealed envelope and labeled for the student are accepted at the school sites for meal accounts. 

    We offer a new optional credit card service In-Touch to submit meal account payments starting with the 2021-2022 school year at In-Touch. Choose meal account to apply money to your student(s) meal accounts.  Payments will be applied to your students meal account at 6:45 am, 9:00AM, 11:00AM, 12:00PM and at night at 11:30PM daily to update the meal account balance.  Balances can be checked at any time at https://family.titank12.com/BSM25N.  Meal account balance in Meals Plus have been transferred to our students account in the new Titan software. Negative balance notices will be emailed daily to parents during the school year. 
    An account needs to be created to view your child's meal balance in Family.titank12.com.  Link your student to you and then you will be able to view meal balances.  Titan IT support is 1-916-467-4700 for assistance with this issue.

    National School Lunch Program 

    The National School Lunch Program is a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Through this program, eligible students may be offered free or reduced-price meals. We also participate in the School Breakfast Progam at all schools. Meal payments may be made online, as this program operates in all of the schools in the Kyrene School District. Meal applications are distributed to every student in the district at the beginning of the school year. Application information will remain confidential and will be used only to determine eligibility for free or reduced-priced meals. Applications are also available at all school offices or by clicking on the meal application links. 
    It's More Than a Meal Application (reasons to submit a meal application including P-EBT benefits)  
    Please apply for meal benefits, so if eligible, you will recieve P-EBT (food stamp benefits) and meal benefits are in place when we return the National School Lunch Program. Please visit https://family.titank12.com/BSM25N to submit an online meal application to us. You may turn in paper meal applications to any school office. We need all families to apply whether you are enrolled in our Kyrene Digital Academy, or In-person school. The Free, Reduced-price, and Paid meal information is used to qualify the school district for other student qualifications and funding. We email the notification of meal status letters to parents when the application is processed.

    Public Notice - Meal Account Refund

    You may request a refund within 4 months of a student withdrawing or graduating from our District. You may make the request by calling 480-541-1660 or by email. We issue a check for the refund. Please include a parent name and address to whom we should issue a refund when emailing the request. Funds may be transferred to another student who remains in Kyrene School District.

    Emergency Broadband Benefit Consumer Information:

    The Federal Communications Commission has launched a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application. You can learn more about the benefit, including eligibility and enrollment information, by visiting http://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit, or by calling 833-511-0311
