Kyrene welcomes all students to apply for enrollment. Open enrollment differs from general enrollment
and is for families living outside the Kyrene School District boundaries OR families living within Kyrene boundaries who want to attend a school other than their designated home school.
NEW Open Enrollment Policy:
with Arizona law, open enrollment is available to any student who lives
within or outside of the Kyrene School District's boundaries. See Procedures and Policies
Key Changes in New Policy:
- Student acceptance in the program is for one year. Program eligibility will be reviewed annually by the District.
- Students who are suspended off campus for ten or more days will lose their open enrollment eligibility.
- Students who are excessively absent will lose their open enrollment eligibility.
Application for Open Enrollment
Applications will be processed on a first come first serve basis.
Request for Open Enrollment Transportation (must be accepted through Open Enrollment and registered at school to submit)
The following students must complete the open enrollment form:
» In-district families wishing to have a boundary exception from their child’s home school to another Kyrene school
» Out-of-district families requesting that their children be placed in a Kyrene school
» In-district families that move out of Kyrene School District boundaries and wish their child remain in a Kyrene school
» Siblings of current students
Open enrollment is subject to, but not limited to, the following:
» Space availability
» Program capacities
» Student status with another school district
» Student status with the juvenile court systemSpecial Education students:

will automatically be placed in a class for next year. This includes students moving from 5th grade to a middle school. You will not receive a letter from Kyrene and you do not need to contact us.
Our Kindergarten program provides an education for the whole child. We offer a challenging and comprehensive academic curriculum and special classes including music and physical education.
Available at all Kyrene schools and is offered to all children residing in and outside Kyrene School District.
For school year (2017-18) will be offered at Milenio. 7:45 - 10:40 a.m. Mon, Tue, Thurs and Fri.
7:45 - 9:45 on Wednesdays
Early Entrance to Kindergarten:
For admission to kindergarten, we recommend that children be five years old before September 1 of the current school year.
Children who are born between September 1 and December 31 may apply for early entrance. Informational meetings must be attended in order to apply.
