    Welcome to KMS’s 2020-2021 school year!! Soy Señora Berlage and I am excited to spend my 32nd year as an educator serving as your student’s Spanish teacher!  We live in such a large and beautiful world with a myriad of different people, diverse languages and cultures that I thoroughly enjoy the study, teaching and experience of them all.  It is my passion as well as my profession!  I was challenged by wonderful Spanish teachers in my “youth” which eventually led to an opportunity to spend three years in Central America serving in the Peace Corps.  I hope to equally challenge and begin to open doors for your child. By exposing them to another language and exploring some art, history and culture of the speakers of that language, we can deepen their understanding, respect for and appreciation of others throughout the world.  If you would like to share more fully in this vision and have skills in another language or culture that you would be interested in presenting to our students, please contact me!
     
    In my "free" time, I enjoy (love!!) hiking with friends, volunteering, traveling, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing games and spending quality time with my husband and three grown children (all of whom are KMS alumni!). I’m looking forward to learning about and from you too! ¡Vamos a tener un año excelente!
