Welcome

  • Kyrene de los Cerritos Elementary School, A Leadership Academy service students in preschool and grades K-5 in the Ahwatukee Foothills Community.  Since opening our doors in August of 1994, we have continually strived to be one of the premier schools in the Kyrene School District.  Our administration, faculty, students and parents are second to none.

Our school has a wonderful "school climate" that is very conducive to learning.  At our school, all K-5 students will lead their own learning through ongoing progress checks, data notebooks, and developing effective habits in their lives to positively impact learning.

Prospective families interested in a school tour should contact the Cerritos office at 480-541-2200 to schedule an appointment.

    Cerritos' Amazing Honors:

    * We are an Arizona Education Foundation A+ School of Excellence.

    * We were named the 27th Leader in Me "Lighthouse School" in the world in 2012.

    * We are one of two schools in the district to be a Playworks School- Power of play to bring out the best in every kid!

    * We became an Ashoka Changemaker School in 2014.

  • School Attendance Awareness Month

Did you know that our Mayor Greg Stanton has proclaimed the month of September 2016 as SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH? Cerritos would like to support this important issue of improving student attendance. We will periodically share our attendance data and we will Begin With the End in Mind and set some school wide attendance goals. We are off to a great start as we only have 13 absences today which is 2.4% of our student population. Can we reduce our percentage of student absences? Can we aim to have a day where we have 100% student attendance?
