We are excited to announce the launch of a Maker Space room for our students! We want to embrace the creativity of children by offering them a room filled with objects that provide purposeful play, innovation, and collaboration! Teachers will facilitate students’ thinking, designing and learning as they work through hands-on activities that are often their own ideas. Students will be making connections between all content areas including math, reading, Science, Art, technology and more! Maker Spaces are proven to increase student interest and engagement! This has been a vision for Cerritos for quite some time. We are now able to move from an idea to a creation! But we need you! Join us Monday, July 24th between 8:00am and 5:00pm to help us prepare the room for the first day.

At our school Leadership is a LIFESTYLE, not a lesson! In 2012, we were recognized as the 27th school, worldwide, with the honor of being a Leader in Me Lighthouse School. Our students discover and practice a set of leadership and life skills from Stephen Covey's book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People". In our school, EVERY child possesses unique strengths and has the ability to be a leader!
