Mrs. Baker |
My name is Sherry Baker, and I’ve been
teaching for 11 years. I received my undergrad from Ottawa University and
my Masters degree from Northern Arizona University.
I have had the privilege of teaching here
at Sierra for 3 years. Besides teaching, I am kept very busy as I am a
proud parent of 2 fantastic kids. Hali, a 14 year old freshmen at Desert
Vista, (I am still in shock. I don’t think I will ever get used to having a
high-schooler). She is a very dedicated cross country runner which keeps us
busy attending weekend meets. I also have son named Grady, he is just over
a year old, and he is into EVERYTHING!!!!
Mr. Baker and I have been married about 3
years and enjoy our family. We are also big Sun Devil fans and have season
tickets to the ASU football games. We love to travel and spend time with
our extended family too.
My goal this year is to continue fostering
that life long love of learning. I appreciate the time I have with your
children and feel it is an honor to teach in such a wonderful community.

Mrs. Massar |
My name is Hope Massar. I am
beginning my fifth
year as Sierra School’s gifted resource teacher. Teaching has been my
lifelong dream, and I’m happy to say that I’ve been fulfilling that dream
for over 20 years. My undergraduate work was done at the University of
Hartford in Connecticut and my Master of Education was completed at the College of New Rochelle in
New York. The
University of Phoenix was the location of my gifted endorsement studies. New York was my home
until 15 years ago when my family moved to Phoenix. My husband, George,
works for IBM. I am the proud parent of Becca, a college student (who is studying to be a
teacher), and Jeremy (who is in the
working world). I am
honored to be part of the wonderful fifth grade team here at Sierra. |

Mrs. Shane |
My name is
Theresa Shane, and I am very happy to be teaching your child this year.
I grew up in Pennsylvania and attended college at The University of
Pittsburgh. I moved to Arizona right after college and have been here
for over 25 years. I have a Master's degree in Education from ASU and this will
be my eleventh year teaching. My husband and I have been blessed with three
wonderful children. I enjoy
reading, playing softball, attending Diamondbacks games, following college
football, traveling, and spending time with my family.
My goal
is to help children be successful by nurturing independence and promoting
responsibility. Fifth grade is an important year in a child's
development, and I hope that I can make a difference.

Mrs. Worrell |
Greetings!!! I am Cindy Worrell hailing from Long Island, New York. I graduated from Northeastern University in
Boston with a Bachelor of Science in Education and later graduated from
Hofstra University's (Hempstead, New York) Master's degree program. After
teaching in my hometown for 10 years, a job transfer relocated my husband
and me to Phoenix in 2000. I have been here at Sierra for 6 years and feel
as though I am truly home. My husband and I have two children. I am an avid
scrapbooker, photographer, and watcher of PeeWee youth hockey games.
My goal
this year, as it has been since entering the teaching profession, is to
enable all children to realize their potential and assist them in becoming
the best young people they can be. My biggest thrill is seeing a child move
from dependent and unsure to independent and self-reliant. |
