Science
Club
Science Club is open to all students enrolled at Akimel A'al Middle School. The club meets once every month, always on a Thursday from 3:15 - 4:15pm in Mrs. Dale's room, B11. A student must have a permission slip on file with Mrs. Dale to stay after school. If you would like to download and print a copy of the permission slip, please click here. And if you are a parent/guardian and would like to volunteer, we would love to have you! We always need adults to help manage the activities to ensure a safe and fun environment. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Dale (tdale@kyrene.org) so she can arrange for your visit.
The purpose of Science Club is to explose students to fun science projects that extend beyond the traditional classroom, offereing opportunities for critical thinking, cooperative learning, and nontraditional problem solving. In the past we've tried to pop popcorn with our cell phones, planted cinnamon basil seeds that were taken into space, built and launched bottle rockets, supported the Night Under the Stars, and presented moon rocks on loan from NASA.
This year we have new activities planned! We don't generally tell the students what the activity is until the meeting but we guarantee they will have a fun time and experience something new every month.
Here is a list of the dates Science Club will meet:
