Dear Parents,
Wow! That was a quick summer vacation! I am so excited about another year of fourth grade learning with this group of students! This week is filled with cooperative “getting to know you” activities that build community in our classroom. Our classroom community will be built on a foundation of Responsibility, Respect, Cooperation, and Friendship.
I would like to take this opportunity to share a little about myself. This year marks my 16th year at Lagos. I am very proud to be a “Lagos Mustang” and realize how fortunate I am to teach the children of this wonderful community. I grew up dreaming of being a teacher and was influenced by wonderful teachers throughout my education.
I am a graduate of the University of North Dakota and earned my Masters of Education from Arizona State University. I moved to the valley 24 years ago where I met my husband, Bob. We have 2 wonderful boys. Shane is 20 and just earned a recording degree from the Conservatory of Recording Music and Jeremy is attending his first year of college at ASU. We have a 12 year old miniature poodle named “Sedona” and a 9 year old cocker spaniel named “Putter”.
For me, every school year is a new beginning. The experiences in these early years mold young attitudes of learning, school, and life. Always feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, comments, compliments, etc… The BEST way is by voice mail 783-1443 or e-mail: shlilly@kyrene.org. Thank you so much for your support!
Sincerely, Mrs. Lilly
