About Mrs. Schaeffel

Hi! I'm Mrs. Schaeffel...

I've been working at Waggoner in the Kyrene School District for the past 21 years. During my teaching career, I've taught first grade, second grade, and a third/fourth grade combination class. I have my BA and MA from Arizona State University. I LOVE teaching!!

Our Wonderful Class

Our class is a special place. Filled with 24 delightful boys and girls and an enthusiastic teacher, our room is a home for the mind. We love to read, write, do math, and explore science, social studies, and health. We are becoming people of character. We practice trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. Our classroom is a wonderful place!

Thank You!

I would like to thank all the parents for their generous donations of school supplies and books. Thank you, also, for all your help and support!

Homework

Each child will receive a homework contract every Monday which should be returned on Friday. Each contract explains the week's assignments in reading, writing, and math. Also included in each week's packet is a newsletter for parents that describes the week's happenings and upcoming events and projects.

Please refer to our Curriculum Night packet for more suggestions and ideas!

What are some of the most important ways parents can help?

1. Have your child read to you.

2. Practice basic math facts with your child. Flashcards are helpful.

3. Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep.
