About Mrs. St. Denis
Hello, my name is Mrs. St. Denis. I am originally from Ontario, Canada. I lived in West Germany for several years. I called the Seattle area home for nine years. We finally moved here twelve years ago. It feels so good to be warm. I attended St. Martin's College where I completed my Bachelors of Business. I also attended The University of Phoenix where I graduated with a masters of Education.
Our Class This year we have 19 students. If you plan to send in snacks please send in enough for all the students. Please do not send in snacks with too much sugar. The children are sweet enough. Cheese and crackers can be fun once in awhile. We have a great time in school! We start the day out by doing Calendar activities. Counting by 1's, 10s, and 5s is something that we try to do at this time. I am sure you have heard the Days of The Week song by now. A really catchy tune. We can sing the Days of the Week in many languages. In our Reading Segment we read some really fun books. We usually work on finding letters, talking about periods, and question marks and even exclamation marks. In Writing we use inventive spelling. Students start out with the first letter, followed by the last letter of a word. As they feel more confident they then write in the other sounds of a word. Next phase is writing out a sentence or question. It takes some time, but with practice they become great writers! In Science we will work
on some really fun Science Experiments. I will send the experiments packet
home in the near future. You should try some on the experiments at home.
