Ms. Stoner’s Math Expectations
You are in 6th grade now! Yeah! With this comes a lot of new responsibility. Each student needs to be sure to have all necessary materials for class every day. Everyone needs to have loose leaf paper, a pencil (or two), a grading pen, and an expo (whiteboard) marker with them at all times. It is very difficult to excel in school if you do not come prepared.
Starting week #2, everyone will have homework every night except Friday. Please be sure that your homework is done before entering my classroom each day. We will turn in the homework at the very start of the class period and it will be returned to you the following day. Each assignment is worth 10 points. These are an easy 10 points because as long as I can see that you attempted EVERY problem and did your very best work, you will receive the full 10 points. Homework should be turned in on loose leaf lined paper and should be done in pencil only. Each assignment should have your name, date, and class period on the top right hand corner.
If you are absent, please remember that you are responsible for your makeup work. All assignments can be found on my webpage. I also have folders in my room on my “Were You Absent” wall with class work. Please be responsible.
I will have materials that we will be using in class. Please remember to treat my things and other students’ things with respect.
I hold very high expectations for the way other students and I are treated during school. Inappropriate language is not acceptable in my classroom. Along with this, I expect that students will not talk badly about other students or teachers.
We will be learning some new and challenging things this year. I expect for all students to try their hardest on all their work. Students will not receive credit for anything if they do not TRY. However, I will award points for an honest attempt made at any work.
This class truly is going to be fun. I know that a lot of people already think that they don’t like math. My goal this year is to change that!! We will have a lot of fun in the class as long as everyone is willing to work hard.
