Dear Families,
I am very excited to be your child’s math teacher this year here at Altadena and I am looking forward to a positive learning experience with each and every student.
I want school to be a positive experience for all students, and I am anxious to help them develop both emotionally and academically. My wish is for my students to acquire the skills to be life long learners as well as demonstrate excellent character.
I
believe every student is capable of learning and I have high expectations for
their success. The environment in my classroom is positive and warm where every
student is encouraged to take risks. The students in my class are expected to
take an active part in their own learning. They are also expected to
demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility.
At times students will be working in teams. Cooperation and teamwork are key to
success in our society: therefore I believe it is necessary for students to gain
experiences working together in the classroom. Students will be encouraged to
accept each other and to listen to differing opinions without making judgments.
Classroom newsletters, what we are doing each day in class, homework as well as
grades can all be accessed through our classroom homepage at

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact
me. You can reach me by voice mail at

Please look over the following pages with your child. Make sure to sign the bottom of my math expectations and have your child return it to school tomorrow along with the student information sheet.
Parent’s Homework
I am asking every parent to send me a blank email with your child’s name and period in the subject line. This will help me make sure that I have accurate emails of all the parents. This will also let me know that you received all of the information that was sent home with your child. Thank you for all of your cooperation! We are going to have a GREAT year in math class!!
