Media Center News Our second book fair will start Monday, February 28th and will end on Friday, March 4th. The book fair will be open from 7:30-3:15 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday the hours will be 7:30-1:45. Aprende is very fortunate this year to have two authors. Laurie Halse Anderson was here in October and Jack Gantos was here in February. Good authors are expensive, but they leave such an impact on students. Students learn valuable writing strategies as well as getting excited about the books these authors have written. The book fair was an enormous success! We raised $3,500 which will be split between Brisas and Aprende for author visits and new books for the library. Over fifty parent volunteers from Brisas and Aprende helped make this happen. We could not do this without all their support. |
