          We hope everyone had a great summer.  To help you understand our classes, the teachers have put together this information sheet.  Please take this home and discuss the rules and procedures with your parent/guardian.  Return the bottom portion of the last page with your signature and a parent’s signature.

Supplies List: for use in all classes

 

Social Studies: Mrs. Anderson

Your Social Studies grade is calculated in the following manner:

Tests: 50%

Other Assessments (quizzes, projects, writing assignments): 15%        

Class work: 25%                

Homework: 10%

Studying consists of vocabulary review (students should make flashcards, using the interactive reviews with their on-line book, and turning the statements in their notes into questions). It is NOT just reading over the notes

 

Science: Mr. Cartan

Your Science grade is calculated in the following manner:

Tests: 50%

Class work (includes labs): 25%

Other Assessments (quizzes, projects): 15%   

Homework: 10%     

 

Language Arts/Advanced Language Arts: Miss Spencer

Your Language Arts grade is calculated in the following manner:

Homework/class work   30%

Tests/quizzes                    50%

Other assessments (major projects/writing assignments) 20%

·        Students should be prepared for a spelling/vocabulary quiz on alternating Thursdays.

·        Homework assignments and due dates will be on the weekly agenda.

 

 

 

 

 

Math Mr. Wallin: for both 7th grade math and Pre Algebra

7th Grade Math: Your grade is calculated in the following manner:

Tests                                       50%

Homework/quiz                      50%

 

Pre-Algebra: Your grade is calculated in the following manner.

Tests                                       50%

Quizzes                                   20%

Make-up Work:

·        If you are absent you are responsible for getting the assignment. 

·        At home you can find the assignment on your “Week-at-a-Glance” (WAG), your agenda, the teacher’s website, or a classmate.  

·        Check the teacher’s designated absence folders for handouts.

·        Students are responsible for getting the notes and assistance on the assignment. 

·        The amount of time to complete the work will depend on the length of the absence.  Please write absent on the top of the paper.  Assignments will not be accepted one week after assignment is due.
