3rd grade math

 We will be starting timed math fact tests.  We will start with addition and subtraction.  When a student has completed all of those, he/she may move on to multiplication. All students should be ready for their test each Friday.  We will be making flashcards in class. 

 The students are doing a wonderful job with Hands-On Equations.

4th grade math

We are moving on with higher level division skills.

3rd/4th language arts

We will begin our next literature study, Winnie the Pooh.  It has some wonderful challenging vocabulary in it.

This week we will be working on  rhyming poetry, creating 2 poems (each 3 stanzas long) using the AABB pattern.

No spelling or Groovy Bob this week.

5th grade math

We have moved on to multiplying and dividing fractions.

  5th language arts

We will be starting our new literature study, the Westing Game.  It's a great murder mystery that the students try to solve.

There will be a spelling test on Friday.

We will be writing poetry with AABB or ABAB rhyming patterns.
