- DID YOU KNOW.....lunches can be paid for online! How perfect for kindergartners! Even if your child plans to bring a lunch everyday, it would be nice for them to have a couple of "emergency" lunches paid for! Go to the Kyrene homepage, look to the right for school menus, click there for the pay online heading! This will help us so much! THANKS!
- After the first day, please have your child go directly to the playground each morning. This is important for many reasons. I have duty each week, may be in the workroom preparing for the day, I may be at an occasionally morning meetings, etc. I will meet the children after the first bell at our assigned spot under the Ramada each day. This is a routine they need to learn ASAP. There are many teachers on duty at that time (7:15-7:40) and the playground is a safe, fun space for them to be.
- The classroom telephone is not on voice mail during the day. If you need to get in touch with me for an emergency message, call the office at 783-1100 to have the office connect to me. It is very difficult to get to the phone when I am with the children. Thank you for understanding. I will check e-mail messages when I am able to during the day for emergency messages, also.
- For those of you who are new Sierra parents, the office has a strict policy that you MUST sign in and wear a badge, as well as sign out. This is a safety issue for all students. If it is a simple matter such as a lunch box drop off, leave it at the desk in the office and they will get it to us!
- PARENT HELPERS are greatly appreciated and valued in my classroom. I do not begin scheduling them until the class has "settled in" to our routines. Please be patient and know that I will begin that program as soon as possible and will have an initial meeting with those parents before the schedule is set up. I try to schedule according to your wishes for days, but appreciate flexibility also!
- Please send in a small towel for "towel time"...our rest period. No pillows or stuffed animals please!! I will send these home monthly to be laundered at home and returned the following Monday.
- Snacks should be sent each day separate from the lunch box. I do not want the children going through there lunches looking for their snack. Please just slip the snack into their backpack each day or, if you prefer, you may send a weeks worth each Monday. :-)
