Several students and parents need a second literature book at home.  The district only permits one book for student.  I do have the ability to sign your child up to the Holt Literature Book Website.  Please let me know if you need that information.  I need to register your child, then I can give him/her the log on information and a password.  Once your child has that information, he/she can access that site by:     Logging in at: http://my.hrw.com.

LANGUAGE ARTS HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT

The first homework was assigned on Wednesday, August 25.  It will be due on Wednesday, September 1.  All spelling/vocabulary homework is due Wednesday - Wednesday.  The packet that went home was fully explained in class. The 10 words need to be written, on a lined piece of paper, in cursive, 3 times each!  Students should practice how to spell these 10 words.  These are the words they need to know for their second spelling test; test is on Wednesday, September 1. The entire packet needs to be completed and turned in on Wednesday, September 1. Students need to know the definitions of these words for a multiple choice vocabulary test which will also be on Wednesday, September 1.  If your child misplaces the packet, a copy of it can be found by clicking here.

Parents who used Parent Experience before will have the same log-in and password as last year. This information does not change from year-to-year.  Parents who are new to Kyrene - or who did not use Parent Experience last year - will be mailed an Activation Code after the 10th day of school. This mailing will come from the Kyrene district office.

The letter explaining the Home Reading Assignment was sent home on August 18.  Four Book Reports will be due this year; one each quarter is required.  If your child lost this paper and you wish to see the letter click here.  If you wish to view the directions and rubric for these reports, click here.

The first one is due on :        Friday, October 1. 

The second one is due on:    Friday, December 3

The third one is due on:        Friday, February 18

The fourth one is due on:      Friday, May, 6
