Homework:

Spelling & Math everyday!

Every week we have spelling homework. A packet is sent home on Monday and is due Friday. The spelling test is given on Friday. We study for spelling all week with games like Sparkle and Spelling Bee.

We have math homework every day of the week except Friday. Each student is given homework at the end of the day. Their homework will compliment the lesson we did in class that day.

We have a reading calendar that the students are expected to fill out every night. We start this in September. My goal is that all students read for at least 15 minutes each night. In class, we use literacy stations mixed with technology.

Fourth grade social studies focuses on Arizona and I throw in the United States as well. We also work a lot on map skills including latitude and longitude, time zones and continents. Our main topic is Arizona. We learn about the Native American tribes, the regions, and so much more.

In science we will use the Foss science kits to explore 4 different areas of our scientific world. The kits allow a more hands on and research approach to all topics.
