Homework

Homework contracts are given out each Monday and are due back the following Monday. |

Additional spelling practice may be assigned and is expected to be turned in with and attached to homework contracts. |

On occasion, there will be other homework that will be assigned if it is not completed in class. |
Nightly Math homework is due the day after it is assigned:
Students will receive one point per page for having their homework completed on time.
The unit packets are to be turned in on the day that we take the test.
Homework Contracts:
1. Nightly reading- Choose 4 nights to read 15 minutes (for a total of at least 60 min/week)
2. Write a brief summary about one of the books you read. The summary must be at least 3 sentences!
3. Complete nightly math homework (usually two pages) and have parents initial after checking. Return to school each day.
4. Choose five spelling words to use in 5 meaningful sentences. Each sentence must have at least 6 words.
5. Practice addition and subtraction facts using flash cards, websites, oral drills, etc.
Reading Responses:
Students will also be working on reading different chapter books throughout each quarter. Rewards are given to students who read at least 5, 10, 15, and 20 books.
