Welcome to the Tempe Union High School District, a collection of successful comprehensive high schools to serve you and your family.

Students, you are about to make some very big decisions that will have a lasting and positive impact on your future.  To help you and your families make the best choice about where to attend and what courses to take, we want to make you aware of two very important events that are coming up soon.

Tempe Union High School District Showcases:

School Showcase Nights are held to help you and your families learn about the programs and opportunities that each of our schools offer to our students.  We showcase what we have to offer and you get to see just what exciting opportunities are ahead for you.  The activities will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the high school auditoriums and gymnasiums where counselors and department representatives will be available to discuss a variety of topics, including: graduation requirements, high school credit system, rules and regulations, four year programs of study (E-CAP), special programs, grading system, student scheduling and much more.

Showcase Dates:

McClintock High School – January 23, 2017

Marcos de Niza High School – December 5, 2016

Tempe High School – January 30, 2017

Middle School Vists:

High school guidance counselors and other representatives will meet with our incoming ninth grade students two times as part of the course selection process.  Students, as an incoming ninth grader, you will soon be asked to select the courses you will take your freshman year.  Since the courses you select will greatly influence your future educational endeavors, we urge you and your parents to give serious thought to the selection of appropriate courses.  The classes you finally choose should reflect your ability and interests.

  • Student Orientation – January 18 & 19, 2017

During Student Orientation, you will be given a course catalog describing all of the courses that are offered to students in Tempe Union.  Please take the time as a family to review this catalog and the accompanying course selection materials.  In addition to the information that these meetings will provide, the high school guidance counselors can discuss the complete curriculum and specific requirements regarding your high school program with you.

  • Pre-Registration –January 30 & February 1, 2017

High school counselors and the Assistant Principal for Academics will meet with each student at his/her middle school campus to collect and finalize the course selection process.

If you have questions, please contact the Assistant Principal for Academics at the high school you plan to attend.

Parents, please carefully review the information your child receives from the high school counselors to ensure that your child have everything he/she needs to register. As you review the registration materials, please note that there are several forms which will require your signature. If your child must provide copies of any documents, please provide a copy. The CMS office staff will not be able to make copies of original documents.
