Ms. Janice Rubocki Mrs. Charlene Holbein
This year begins my twenty-fourth year of teaching. Thirteen years were spent teaching first and third grade in El Paso, Texas. Two years were spent teaching second and fourth grade in Coolidge, Arizona. Eight years of my career were at Kyrene de la Colina teaching second, third and fourth grades. I am beginning my ninth year as a library media specialist with Kyrene School District here at Waggoner. This is a new position for me.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, with a double minor in Speech Pathology and Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso. I earned my Master of Arts degree from the University of Phoenix in Elementary Education in the fall of 1994. Along with my graduate hours, I have also obtained additional hours in computer sciences and taught peers through Kyrene Community Education. I maintain my Arizona certification from Arizona State University with graduate hours. I have obtained my Library Media Specialist Endorsement.
I have been at Waggoner for six exciting years and love the challenge that comes with teaching children the love of reading. The ultimate reward is watching children learn that they can read independently. The confidence they gain will help them be successful through out their lives.
I received my Library Science Endorsement at Mesa Community College in the evening, while working full time at Waggoner. I took computer classes at NAU ; http://www.azohwy.com/n/nau.htm Northern Arizona university in 1980-81. My library profession started at NAU Libraries, Lakeside Public Library, Blue Ridge Schools, and Kyrene Schools. I feel Waggoner fulfill my teaching profession.
