The Road of Life
By Robert G.

Life is a road that we all must take.
Cracks in the road are the pains that harm us.
The decisions we make are the detours in life.
The older we get the road gets longer.
The signs that you see are your conscience speaking.
Intersections are the lives that you cross paths with.
The roads parallel to yours are friends and family close and cheerful.
Then finally at the end one lonely STOP sign.
Which means it's time to leave.
Life ends!
No more path to walk.
You've passed
All that's left is tiny sidewalk.
Your life has ended but your soul LIVES on.

Rapids

Raging water
Against
Pebbles
In roaring swirls
Dashing in the
Sun

My Self-Portrait
by Alejandra T.

My thoughts are like the rushing water in a cascade
My smile is like a humongous sunflower bloomin
My feelings are like the piano keys that make joyful and sorrowful music
My mouth is as squeaky as a little mouse that never stops
My heart holds love that is purple as a juicy sweet plum
I live in my cozy bedroom, and eat dream of Beanie Babies and American Girl Dolls
