Stars
by
Little shining lights in a field of
darkness,
They guide the weary traveler in the darkest of nights,
They're the dreams of kids,
And the hopes of others.
And also the tiny spark of goodness in a black heart.
But when the sun comes out,
They disappear.

Soothing
Blue
by Maria
Blue is
the color of the soothing, glistening ocean
that moves lightly against the sand at night.
It is
the color of a beautiful, shiny Sapphire that's
given from a husband to his wife on their
loving 20th anniversary.
Blue is
the color of cool, watery eyes that drop
tears with every moment of sadness on a
rainy stormy day that never ends until the
next morning.
It's the
color of a gorgeous, fluffy Blue Bird that
lays on its nest waiting for its eggs to hatch.
Blue is
the memory of a new, tiny baby boy just
born on a wintry December day.

Brown is the rugged dirt road I drive over to get to my grandma's house.
It is like slimy and smooth mud used for making a Hogan that my ancestors built.
Brown coers the rough tough bark that hides all the trees in the dense forests where we hunted.
It is the shiny,, braided, silky, long beautiful brown hair that glows in the sun.
Brown like the tightly wonderful hand woven Navajo rug and baskets.
Finally, it is the tneder, crispy cooked gound beef used for tacos
And hot steamy juicy roasted turkey you eat on a blessed Thanksgiving Day
