Chess
by Connor L.
Chess
is like a very small war
without the
violence, without the gore.
The pawns are in the front of the battle.
The bishops are
ready.
The knights are on saddle.
The rooks stand as powerful walls.
You make the moves. You make the calls.
The players move at a fast moving rate.
Then, the game is over with two words.....
CHECK MATE!!!

When
I Get To Be a Baseball Player...
by
Gabriel J.
I'm
going to be a second baseman
And have a 500 batting average
like a hitting machine
Smell the hot dogs and cracker jacks
like the feel of hitting a homerun
like the feel of red dirt in my finger nails
And seeing the ball go over the fence
And the taste of sunflower seeds
And hearing the crack of the bat
And being on the front cover of E.S.P.N. magazine
And winning the world series in extra innings
That's what's going to happen when I'm a baseball player

Making it to the N.F.L.
by Jack M.
When I make it to
the N.F.L.,
I'm going to make a million dollars.
And fight through the aches and pains of tackling.
I'll see the gaol line getting closer by the second.
I'll have the occasional taste of grass in my mouth from a tackle.
The roar of the fans will torture my ear drums.
I'll have the stench of sweat rapidly running up my nose.
It will be a train wreck getting hit by a defender.
It will be like rinding a rocket approaching the end zone.
I will break through the avalanche of players.
In the years from now,
When I make it to the N.F.L.
