4th Grade 2006 Niños Poetry Winners

Jungle

Waking up in the jungle, my ocean of trees,
I stare at my chocolate-colored tree trunk,
As if it were my candy bar
I then notice something in the grass.
A small creature,
I look in the creature's submarine eyes,
And see the reflection of a beast.
The beast persuades me to pounce.
I kill the animal,
As if I were playing god, and run off with it to feast.
In a nearby river I bathe.
The smooth current feels like it's giving me a "relassage."
I soon leave the river and start to walk on.
I see creatures glare at me behind the bushes,
Wondering when I will jounce on them.
I see their shimmering eyes.
They eyes look like one big diamond.
I walk on seeing that the sun has fallen asleep,
And the Luna has awakened.
I find a new "Chocolate bar" and sleep.

What is Football?

A lot of people play
People go to cheer
Work as a team
Hard to score touch downs
Win lots of maney
Get Super Bowl rings
That is Football!!!!
