“A smile from inside spilled all over
his/her face. The sparkle beamed all over the place because dad and mom came to school!”
Dear Families,
We have planned and scheduled numerous opportunities for you to visit our school this year. I encourage you to attend as many of these events as possible. Your children just beam when they see you!
We extend an invitation to all grandparents to visit our school on their special day, National Grandparents Day, Monday, September 9th. This day originated with Marian McQuade, a housewife in Fayette County, West Virginia. Mrs. McQuade hoped to persuade grandchildren to tap the wisdom and heritage their grandparents could provide.
I know that some students’ grandparents may not live close by or may not be able to attend. I want to make sure that no student feels left out, so, if a grandparent cannot visit our school on this day, a parent, aunt or uncle is welcome to attend.
Every month we will host “parent lunch days” that are special days for parents to stop by and eat lunch with their child (ren). I am including the schedule for this year’s “parent lunch days” so that you have plenty of time to mark your calendars and make plans to attend. A flyer with lunch times will be sent out prior to each “parent lunch day.”
September 17th February 11th October 23rd March 18th November 14th April 2nd January 18th May 15th
We look forward in seeing you!
Sincerely,
Ana C. Gomez del Castillo, Ed.D. Principal
