Dear Parents,

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for the weeks of October 29 – November 9, 2007.  This is a great opportunity for you to visit with your child’s teacher and find out about your child’s progress. Parent/teacher conference scheduling forms were sent out Friday, September 28th, and need to be returned no later than Friday, October 8th. I would like to see all parents participating in these conferences. If you do not have transportation, all you have to do is indicate this on the form and we will get you here.

Our teachers will create a schedule that will meet the needs of all our families. Make every effort to set aside time to meet personally with all of your child’s teachers such as PE, Art, Music, and for some students SEI, Resource and Gifted Resource.

On the day of your conference it is essential that you arrive on time since meetings are typically scheduled back to back.  Life happens and you may not be able to arrive on time, I ask that you call the office so that we can inform the teacher.

During the conference teachers will provide feedback that is critical to your child’s academic success so I encourage you to write down teacher’s specific comments or recommendations.  It is a great time to collaborate with your child’s teachers regarding goals and expectations for your child. This is also a time for you to ask questions. Thank your child’s teachers for the commitment they’ve made.

All of our teachers work hard to ensure that every child is learning and that every child succeeds.  Our teachers are essential for your child’s success, as parents, you are the most important teachers in your child’s life. Our teachers need your involvement and your support. Your involvement and support are essential ingredients for your child’s success!

We look forward in seeing and visiting with all of our parents during Parent Teacher Conferences.

Sincerely,

Ana C. Gomez del Castillo, Ed.D.
