TRUSTWORTHINESS

Behaviors that show TRUSTWORTHINESS:

·            Tell the truth

·            Be your best

·            Stand up for what you believe

·            Practice self-discipline

·            Keep your word

·            Return what you borrow

What can you as a parent do to promote trustworthiness in your child(ren):

·          Model the behavior you want to see in your children and acknowledge their good behavior when you see it.

·          Be clear about your expectations:  expect your child to do what they say they are going to do and to be honest with you.

·          Make clear what consequences (no t.v., decreased playing time, etc.) will be a result of your child not meeting those expectations.

·          Allow for mistakes, but expect the child making the mistake (or yourself) to take responsibility for the decision and consequences.
