Below is a list and short description of the PTO's standing committees.

Committee	Description
PTO Bulletin Board	This Bulletin Board is a form of communication. It is maintained weekly, announcing all the upcoming activities and school functions.
Directory	The PTO chairperson designs the school directory, compiles the information and oversees the printing and distribution of the publication.
Fall Book Fair	A fundraiser that promotes reading and provides additional books for the school and classroom libraries.
Fall Dance
Fall Fundraiser	The proceeds from this major fundraiser are used to fund all PTO-sponsored programs and events as well as to provide gifts and services to the school and teachers.
Family Dinner Nights	Contacting local restaurants and setting up dates for fundraisers nights.  A portion of sales is donated to Monte Vista when Monte Vista families bring the flyer and dine at a specific date and time at these restaurants.
Family Reading	Encourages reading at home by recording and tracking the number of minutes read outside the school by students and/or by students and family members together.
Fifth Grade Celebration	Plans a "Celebration of Success" party for current fifth graders to congratulate them on their educational successes during their time at Monte Vista.
Holiday Food Drive	A community service program designed to remind our children of the meaning of the holiday season. It involves the collection and distribution of donated food items.
Hospitality	Provides refreshments for PTO meetings and recognizes our outstanding teaching and administrative staff through parties and lunches.
Kyrene Kids Corner
Masterpiece Art	A supplementary art program that introduces students to master artists and their works.
Newsletter	Gather information from PTO members and chairpersons for upcoming events to be published in the PTO quarterly newsletter.
Publicity	Informs the community of school and PTO events.
Pumpkin Walk	Coordinates the annual evening event at which families visit the school playground to walk among the hundreds of glowing pumpkins carved by Monte Vista students.
Silent Auction	Held alongside the Spring Carnival, this event offers silent bidding on donated services, merchandise and sports memorabilia provided by local merchants.
Monte Vista Marquee	Responsible for changing messages on the Monte Vista sign in front of the school.
Safety Coordinator
Spring Book Fair	A fundraiser that promotes reading and provides additional books for the school and classroom libraries.
Spring Carnival	A Saturday event aimed at the entire family that includes games, food and other delights.
Staff Appreciation	Organizes activities for Staff Appreciation Week in early May.

School Shirt Sales	Coordinates designing and selling of the following year's official school t-shirt.
Web Site	Oversees design and maintenance of PTO Web site.
Welcome Coordinator	This committee is responsible for welcoming new families to Monte Vista and helping them feel part of our school and community alike.
Teacher Workroom	Organizes volunteers to provide support for teachers by copying, laminating and doing other clerical tasks.
Yearbook	Oversees design, sales and distribution of annual student yearbook.
