Family Reading Wall

COLOR the RAINBOW with reading!

Stop by the hallway south of the library to see the PTO Family Reading Wall!

Keep your students reading and tracking their minutes read! There are 5 Reward Levels! They earn a lucky coin after completing the first level log and they earn a book after completing each of the next four levels. They can turn the logs in anytime and then begin the next level! The certificates and rewards will be handed out on the following Reading Wall Reward Dates:

Art Masterpiece Needs a Few More Parents Volunteers

Art Masterpiece volunteers are asked to commit 1 hour per month to present a lesson on an artistic masterwork. Curriculum, supplemental resources and art supplies are available. Art Masterpiece is a great way to shape your child’s aesthetic appreciation and to contribute to your child’s classroom.

Box Tops and Campbell’s labels update

The first contest winners have been awarded their class parties; Mrs. Hales class won a pizza party for submitting the most Box Tops and Mrs. Brazelton’s class won an ice cream party for the most Campbell’s labels. Please continue to send in those Box Tops and Labels, the second contest will end on April 14.

Fry’s Cool Cash: If you haven’t linked your Fry’s card to Monte Vista it is not too late. Please contact Linda Moulton at 704-1916 for the Monte Vista barcode.

The PTO will have a suggestion box in the main office. Anyone wishing to make comments or suggestions may do so via this suggestion box or may contact a board member directly.

Monte Vista Emergency Phone Tree

We are currently in great need of members for this important PTO endeavor. If you have been a member in the past and wish to remain or if you no longer wish to participate, please contact Alison ASAP @ 704-0577. In case of an emergency, the emergency parent contact phone tree will be initiated. In order to volunteer, you must have constant access to a cell phone and be able to report directly to Alison Deli's home to complete calls to Monte Vista families. Any questions? Heritage Habitat Garden

Many thanks again to all the hard working volunteers who contributed to our beautiful habitat garden. I would also like to thank, Ann Opich, former Monte Vista parent, for designing and building our whimsical Heritage Habitat Garden sign. It is just perfect for our space and adds an element of

fun to our garden! I would also like to thank all of the teachers and parents that helped with the garden stepping stone project. Each stone represents our classrooms individuality and commitment to the garden. Thanks

so much again and please come and enjoy the garden!

WORKROOM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

If you would like to help out in the teacher's workroom by copying, stapling, cutting, and other little tasks to help lower the teachers' workload, please contact Cindy Gerrish at 759-7096, gerrishs@cox.net or Linda Moulton at 704-1961. We would be happy to show you around and get you started.

“Few of Our Favorite Things” by KMV Teachers & Staff

The teachers and staff have filled out a form called “Few of Our Favorite Things” which contains information about them regarding things they enjoy and background info. that parents/kids might find interesting. Ask for the binder in the office.
