Enrichment Advisory Board
An Enrichment Advisory Board was created for the 2008-2009 school year.
Role:
To advise the Site Council and/or Principal regarding community interest in enrichment class offerings at Monte Vista and to serve as a liaison between the Monte Vista community and Enrichment Advisory Board. Other duties may include surveying parents for interest in classes, recruiting staff to teach MV enrichment classes, and assisting in preparing the budget for Monte Vista enrichment classes for Site Council approval.
Membership:
This board will consist of three (3) parents, one (1) staff and an administrator. Members will serve a 2-year term.
Member Selection Process:
Enrichment Advisory Board membership is open to any current Monte Vista parent and should not be current Site Council members. Members will be self-nominated.
If it is determined that there is more interest than available openings, parents will vote anonymously in an Enrichment Advisory Board election to be held the second week of May in conjunction with the Site Council elections. Candidates will submit a written statement of explanation on how their membership on the Advisory Board would benefit the Advisory Board and the Monte Vista students (not to exceed one (1) page). This statement should be submitted to the school secretary by the Friday of the last week in April. It will be sent home with students and published on the school web page for parent review.
