When Odin the god, of soul, wisdom, war, life, and death, was eagerly sitting on his throne, Ldskljalf, where he could see into the deepest part of the nine worlds, he saw a few gnomes in raging hot Muspelheim, the world of fire, working with Surt, the ruler of Muspelheim, to take over the nine worlds. At that time the world was and shaking and everyone was afraid that they would die. The roots of Yddsragil, the world tree that held up the nine worlds, were falling because the dragon was gnawing extremely hard.

Then Thor, the god of thunder came and with Odin he went to Muspelheim to fight the gnomes who were working with Surt. He brought his hammer, which would crush something when he threw it, and he wore his belt, which doubled his strength, and while fighting Thor was spinning his hammer at high speed but when he released the hammer a frost giant caught it and accidentally dropped it in a pit with enough ice to kill someone, so Thor never saw that hammer again.

The gnomes in upper Darkalfheim were making a magic hammer. They added silver and golden on the top and tested it every time they did something to the hammer. Sif, Thor’s wife, liked the magic hammer so much that she stole it and Thor had a new powerful hammer, which made him the wisest living thing. Not even Odin was as wise as Thor.

Then Loki, the god of the frost giants, whorled around trying to get up then rolling on the floor he got paralyzed for a second and a snake bit him on the foot and Loki died on Asgard, the home of gods. After Loki died, Utgardstuki became the god of frost giants and he was more evil and cunning than Loki who killed Balder, the god of light. He tried to steel Thor’s hammer and take Frigg’s jewelry to make a sword that would destroy anything.

Thor figured that Odin’s wife’s jewelry was magical because it was created at the festival on the Norse New Year at the time wonderful Asgard was created. The maker was a person that was a skilled magician.

Meanwhile Utgardstuki was quickly running back and forth between Asgard and Muspelheim giving Surt and the frost giants information for he was a spy of the gruesome frost giants. While all this was happening Surt was working with the gnomes who were great miners to create a crack in the earth so he could throw flames at everything and he had already made a hole! When Odin was sitting on Ldskljalf he saw that Surt had done this and he took Frigg’s necklace and spun it around creating a kind of wind called a tornado. The tornado washed out all the jotuns and gnomes that worked with Surt and destroyed Surt.

Shortly before Surt died he murdered a person on earth and with the dead person he cloned himself so there still is a Surt who called out,” I am still alive and I will take revenge on the Aesir gods!”

Thor killed Utgardstuki because he gave Surt information. The only reason Utgardstuki died was that he wasn’t aware that Odin could find out that he was a spy and that Thor could kill him.

The owner of Niflheim promised if everyone wept for Balder he would come back and now everyone wept because Loki was dead and Loki was the person who didn’t weep for Balder, so he came back.

From now on when anything good is getting killed somewhere Thor sends a tornado with Frigg’s beautiful jewelry to destroy the thing that is killing other things, but there is an exception and it is killing an animal for food or material.
